Holy Trinity Church Theale
Choir
Holy Trinity has a reputation for good music stretching back a long way. The current music reflects our desire to be inclusive, with a fair proportion of traditional hymns complemented by more modern material, all led by the organ and the choir in four-part harmony where possible. We use Common Praise and New Hymns and Worship Songs as our hymn books. We use a musical mass setting during the service for parts such as the Gloria, and sing anthems about twice a month. Anthems cover a wide range of styles from Purcell and Tye to the present day.
Choir Practice is on Thursday evening from 7pm - 8pm in the church.
We sing at the 10am service every Sunday, plus occasional other services and other events, for example on Good Friday and at weddings.
We try to be as flexible as possible about attendance, recognising that people have other commitments, and don't currently have minimum rehearsal or service requirements. This is quite unusual, but it seems to work! We also try to accommodate singers of different levels, and seek to provide ongoing training and support.
Perhaps you would like to sing with our choir? We have members of all ages and levels.
See
Kate after a service, contact her by email or telephone or turn up at a practice.
We don't currently audition, but like people to spend a practice or two with us to
see how it goes.
